Holding an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Florida State University, School of Dance, I currently serve as Clinical Associate Professor of Dance at the University at Buffalo, where I teach ballet, contemporary dance, choreography, screendance, and graduate coursework while mentoring emerging artists through performance, research, and collaborative inquiry. My creative research investigates how movement communicates memory, identity, transformation, and human connection across both live performance and the cinematic frame. Working fluidly between concert choreography and dance for the camera, I am particularly interested in the ways choreography can be reimagined through filmmaking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging technologies while remaining grounded in the embodied experience and profound expression of the moving body. My choreography and screendance films have been presented nationally and internationally through juried festivals, invited screenings, and exhibitions across North America, Europe, and Asia, reflecting an ongoing commitment to advance screendance as both creative research and a site for pedagogical investigation . Transmigration received Best Choreography and a nomination for Best Direction, while additional works—including SILO and She Told—have been featured at international festivals and conferences, including the Women in Dance Leadership Conference and screenings in Yokohama, Japan. This integration of artistic practice and pedagogy extends into my teaching, where creative research and mentorship are central to the student experience. Through coursework, performance opportunities, and interdisciplinary collaborations, I encourage students to cultivate technical excellence alongside curiosity, critical inquiry, and creative autonomy. My approach emphasizes process, play, and experimentation as essential components of artistic inquiry, preparing students to become adaptable artists, scholars, educators, and leaders. In addition to teaching, I serve as Artistic Director of ChoreoLab and previously served as Managing Director of Zodiaque Dance Company. These leadership roles have allowed me to develop innovative curricular and performance initiatives that expand opportunities for students to engage in performance, production, creative research, and collaboration with guest artists, designers, filmmakers, and scholars. These experiences bridge academic study and professional practice while helping students develop the adaptability, leadership, and collaborative skills required of contemporary artists. Beyond the studio, I contribute to scholarship on dance education through publications in Dance Teacher Magazine. My writing explores pedagogy, mentorship, motherhood, resilience, and sustaining a career in the arts, reflecting a broader commitment to advancing conversations about the evolving role of dance educators in higher education. My work is grounded by the belief that education, creative research, and artistic practice are inseparable.
